Books I've Worked On

Would you like some help with your writing?

Every writer needs a sharp editor to read his/her manuscript with a fresh pair of eyes and comment not only on what is working well, but how the story could improve. E.B. White once wrote, "the best writing is rewriting." As a developmental editor, I can help you with the most important aspect of writing: revision. I will read your manuscript carefully and provide honest, constructive feedback that will allow you to focus on vital areas for improvement in your work. Get solid advice before you take the next step to publishing your book.

Genres I Work With

I edit novels, short story collections, memoirs, essay collections, and general nonfiction (how-to, self-help, business, etc.).

What You'll Get

Clients receive a comprehensive editorial letter of 10-12 pages, detailed marginalia, and a 60-minute conversation by phone, video conference, or in-person meeting. If you want an even more hands-on approach, I can also be your book doctor.

How I'm Qualified

In May 2013, I graduated from the MFA program in fiction writing at Colorado State University. As an MFA student, I participated in the traditional small workshop model and worked one-on-one with my thesis advisor to develop a small collection of short stories. I used the same models to teach creative writing and composition to undergraduates as a university instructor. I have worked as an assistant editor for New American Library at Penguin Random House, an editorial assistant for the Colorado Review, and an assistant editor for the literary magazine Broad!. All of this experience enables me to provide insightful, useful feedback for writers who want to polish their manuscripts. For more information on my background, please see my resume and the gallery of titles I've worked on.
