I recommend her wholeheartedly.
— Heather Lefebvre, Writer and Editor of Broad!

You used to love writing, but now you just feel blocked and burned out. What happened to the inspiration?

You have secret writing projects that you’re afraid to share with others — what if it’s not good enough?

You resolve again and again to make time for writing, but other things keep getting in the way.

You’d rather work one-on-one with a mentor than join a class or workshop.

Break through your writing resistance, rekindle your inspiration, and overcome the fear of criticism.

At the heart of most writers’ problems with writing is the inner critic. The loud voice of self-criticism drowns out the voice of authentic wisdom. When the writer believes the inner critic, fear overshadows inspiration.

If you’re frustrated with your own blocks to writing and ready to change this pattern, I can coach you through it. If you want feedback on your evolving manuscript from a trusted mentor, I can be that person for you.

Resistance always comes up right at the moment of real change. Let’s work through it together.

Your first 30-minute session is free. You can book me here.

I offer coaching specifically for writers.

I have published creative writing in literary journals including Confrontation, Vol. 1 Brooklyn, Joyland Magazine, Bellingham Review, and Grasslimb Journal, among other places.

I have almost a decade of experience as a freelance writer. As a freelancer, I’ve completed write-for-hire book projects for publishers like Penguin Random House and Hachette. I’ve also edited manuscripts for private clients on a freelance basis.

I hold an MFA in creative writing from Colorado State University. I taught creative writing and composition to undergraduates as a university instructor while I was in graduate school.

I’ve worked as an assistant editor for Penguin Random House, an editorial assistant for the Colorado Review, and an assistant editor for the literary magazine Broad!

I’m a coach partnering with clients to help them find their authentic voices and break through resistance to create real change.

Through a customized combination of writing instruction, editorial feedback, and coaching, I can help you become the writer you want to be.

How This Works

Your coaching engagement will be customized to your specific goals and issues.

We’ll start with a free discovery session that allows you to tell me about yourself and your writing, and experience 30 minutes of coaching.

Once we establish where you are in your writing, we’ll have a visioning session so you can set some goals for our work together.

We’ll set up a writing schedule with deadlines so that you can send me your work and I can give you feedback. Together, we’ll make a reading list to study writing technique, inspire you, and inform your work.

As much as you would like me to, I can hold you accountable to your goals throughout our coaching engagement.

Our sessions will be a combination of writing instruction, feedback, discussion, and coaching. Coaching is a creative process that helps you to overcome blocks, access your internal wisdom, create new possibilities for yourself, and maximize your potential.
